Pool table room size and cue clearance calculator.
Enter the exact external table dimensions from the supplier drawing. The calculator adds cue length and an optional player allowance on every side, without assuming a generic table footprint.
How the calculation works
Minimum room length = external table length + 2 × (cue length + extra allowance). The room width uses the same formula. Measure to the nearest fixed obstruction, not only to the wall.
Use the exact model drawing because a nominal 7 ft, 8 ft, 9 ft or 12 ft label does not define the cabinet footprint. Columns, furniture, door swings and ball-return service zones may need additional clearance.
Planning checklist
- Exact external length and width of the selected model.
- The longest cue normally used in the room.
- Player movement allowance beyond the cue.
- Fixed furniture, columns, door swings and cue racks.
- Delivery route, lighting position and installation access.
